It has been quite a while since I’ve crafted up some decorative soaps, but once I saw this fun witch hat mold, I knew I need to get started again. If you haven’t tried soap making, you should definitely give it a go. It really is as easy as melting chopped up melt and pour soap base in the microwave and then pouring it into a mold. Plus you can color and scent it any way you want! These DIY witch hat soaps for Halloween was just as easy to make, then I added a few pieces of gold foil to the soaps once they hardened for an extra little sparkle.

Begin by chopping up the soap base into appx. 1″ cubes and melt in a microwave safe glass cup. Once just melted but not boiling (about 30 sec), remove from the microwave and add your soap colorant (just a few drops) and any fragrance. Then mix with a spoon and pour into your mold.

Let the soap cool for about 30 minutes before unmolding. Once out of the mold use tweezers or just your fingers to add a few pieces of gold leaf to the soaps.

Pile them on a tray to make your bathroom spooky for Halloween. Each soap is fairly small, so these are great for a few uses. The gold will come off after a few uses, so it is completely optional. If the gold foil isn’t your thing, you could also use pearl mica powder in the soap to give them a little sheen.
